Today, with over 7,000 charger installations and boasting of a rare distinction of 50% share of all charger installations in Thermal Power Stations in India, Chhabi is definitely the first name in the field. All this was possible due to the hard work, dedication, urge to grow and co-ordinated efforts of all the staff members, technicians, consultants and marketing representatives associated with us backed by our three decades of vast experience in designing and manufacturing of DC supply system.

The Company was founded in 1965 at Bombay in the State of Maharashtra, India, to operate in the field of industrial electrical equipment. We started with the production of Automatic Voltage Stabiliser and small chargers. The continuos efforts of expansion in product range and facilities took us to Jalgaon in 1980, about 425Km from Mumbai. The products then included Phase Preventors, L T Distribution Transformers, Plating Rectifiers, Battery Chargers, etc. The Jalgaon plants have a covered Area - 7879 sq.mtrs & non covered Area - 2324.36 sq. mtrs.




Company has got the facility for SOAK TEST i.e the entire equipment can be kept in chamber for a desired design ambient temperature and full load test results for temperature rise tests can be obtained. A number of tests have been carried out by expert third parties on equipment for Degree of Protection, Assembled PCB's, Transformers, etc.

To achieve Reliability and Quality, we have got all modern equipment for testing including Digital Storage Oscilloscope. Multimeter, High Power Testing Bench, Chamber for Environment Test (i.e. BURN IN Test, Temperature Cycling, Humidity etc.

7) Temperature Risk Test at full load at 50 Deg. Celc.
8) Dynamic Response Test
9) Environmental Test on PCB's
a) BURN IN Test at 70 Deg.Celc. for 72 hrs.
b) Temperature Cycling Test at 70 Deg. C and 0 Deg. C for 30 Min. at each temperature.
10) Dead Short Circuit Test

The Company is equipped with full fledged Research and Development centre at Jalgaon. Continuous development is going on due to change in technology and the feed back received from our Service Engineers at site, from our works and from our valuable customers.

From a humble beginning, the Company has steadily grown during the last three decades. The growth of the Company is achieved by maintaining the highest quality at all times and the best possible service to our valuable clients.

Subsequently the growth in the power sector and Tele- communication created a good demand for the Rectifier (Battery Charger) business. Since then the Company has started the design, development and manufacture of Thyristor control Battery Charger upto the range of 500KW with major supplies to Government, Power Generating Stations, National Thermal Power Corporation, State Electricity Board, Delhi Electric Supply Undertaking, etc. and industries like Larsen & Toubro, TATA, Reliance Industries Limited, all Petro-Chemical Corporations, Steel Plants, Cement Industries, etc. We have executed orders to the stringent specification of leading Consultants like BHEL, TCE, EIL, DCL, PDLL, UDHE, H&G, POWERGAS, DESEIN, etc.

We also have complete sheet metal fabrication facilities for in house production of all our panels. The facility also includes painting using seven tank process as per IS:6005 and and Spray Painting Stoving Oven. The Company has its own Transformer manufacturing division with facility of Winding, Assembly and Vacuum Impregnation Plant. Ample space is available for Panel Assembling, Wiring and Testing.

Company's Quality control starts with established QA/QC (Quality assurance/ Quality control) plan which has been understood and implemented by all its employees. Company has got in house facility for its testing. All PCBs are subjected to 'BURN IN TEST as per IS/IEC standards (temperature cycling) and are severely tested for varying high and low temperatures and diverse humidity conditions. The quality systems gained recognition in the form of ISO 9001 certification in 1999.
